How Your Sense of Humor Works

What Five Year Olds Can Teach You

Studies show that children laugh more than 300 times per day. The average adult laughs way less–less than a ten times per day.

Each of us has unique sense of humor—but sometimes it is hard to find. It’s a lot easier to laugh when we are just being ourselves. On the web, even casual sites like Facebook don’t let us really relax—we have to worry about what others will think—we spend too much time and energy thinking about what others will find acceptable.

Laughter is like an authenticity meter. A real laugh needs the real you. And trust. No one shares a real laugh with someone they don’t trust.  Trust the real you. Share a laugh.

The human race has only one really effective weapon and that is laughter.– Mark Twain
